Some Questions & Answers

Phoenix First Assembly

Pastor Tommy BarnettDear Friend,

The next 24 months are going to be the most exciting and important time in the history of our church. God has greatly blessed the work here in so many ways. We have a long and rich heritage of blessing and of seeing God’s hand on our church family. Through our outreaches, the lives and eternal futures of tens of thousands of people have been transformed.

Today, we are embarking on a 24-month challenge: a period during which I believe we will have the opportunity to take our church to new heights of outreach – and to establish a legacy for coming generations: A Legacy of Changing Lives.

I’m asking every person who calls our church their spiritual home to link arms with each other and with the Lord, to do something remarkable for His Kingdom over the next two years. As you look through the following pages, rejoice with me over the many aspects of our ministry together. And then as you review the goals of this campaign, allow the Holy Spirit to speak into your heart about the part YOU should take in this effort.

We are not content with what has been.

We are dreaming, praying, working and believing for even greater days of ministry in the future. I urge you to join us in ‘24’ – so that together we can look back on the great miracle of increase that God has given us as a result of our collective sacrifice.

Our greatest days are ahead!

When I came to be your pastor over 25 years ago, I was blessed to receive a debt-free church. It sometimes grieves me to see so much of our budget being consumed to just pay interest. However, I don’t regret one cent we’ve spent! The investment that we’ve made in facilities reflects the priorities of our church. We built infrastructure, not to have buildings, but to be equipped to move forward into expanded ministry.

Since our last capital campaign in 1997, we’ve seen:

  • Major upgrades to our church sanctuary.
  • The completion of Small World Village.
  • The Children’s Pavilion becoming reality.
  • The Youth Pavilion is now being used to touch the next generation.
  • The Phoenix Dream Center is home to Church on the Street and already housing hundreds.
  • The Prayer Pavilion is now a world-class statement that all we do is centered in prayer. It’s a place for the Body of Christ, individuals, families and groups from all denominations and churches to come and seek God’s face, 24/7.

When I list those projects, I’ve described the priorities of our church!

  • We believe in investing in the next generation.
  • We believe in meeting the needs of those who are hurting.
  • We believe that the wisest investment of all is when we give to see lives changed through a personal relationship with our Lord.

Let’s unite to eliminate our debt and see even greater things happen for His Glory and leave a truly lasting legacy.

Your friend and Pastor,
Tommy Barnett
